Bright Blue Gorilla is Robyn Rosenkrantz and Michael Glover, globe-trotting artists from Los Angeles.

It all started in 1990, when Robyn & Michael quit their L.A. jobs, sold everything they had (except their guitars), and bought one-way tickets to Europe. They’ve been living a life of creative adventure ever since.

BBG is back in Europe on tour of cinemas & music halls in Europe with their latest movie "Lose With English." This summer they shoot their next feature film in Berlin. This time it's all in German!

Lose With English is the 4th feature film from BBG. This time they shot it guerilla-style on the streets of Los Angeles. (Video of the L.A. Premiere here.)

Before Lose With English, there was the festival favorite, Karate Film Café. KFC was the 3rd BBG feature film to make the Europe cinema circuit.

Before KFC came the award-winning BBG feature, The Mind of Henry Lime.   The Mind of Henry Lime  won the "Best Comedy Feature" award at the SMTV Film Festival in Bombay, and was an "Official Selection" of both the Arhus Film Festival in Denmark and the Portabello Festival in London. 

The End of The Pier Film Fest in the UK gave The Mind of Henry Lime a "Special Commendation" in the "Best Feature Film" category.

BBG started making movies back in 2004 after they got a Hollywood break acting and singing in an Alec Baldwin and Matthew Broderick film, "The Last Shot". During this time Michael was also working as dailies editor for the MTV show, "The Osbournes", and doing voiceovers for Disney, Microsoft, ABC, etc. (Michael is currently represented by the top voiceover agency in Los Angeles: VOX Inc. During the Alec Baldwin movie, inspiration struck and Robyn and Michael decided to take their Hollywood Movie Paycheck and start making movies themselves. Their first feature film, Sister Sarah's Sky was the result.

Part Two

All the BBG movies are written and directed by Michael Glover and produced by Robyn Rosenkrantz - coproduced by Fred Beshid - with music by Bright Blue Gorilla of course! Here's a nice interview with Robyn, Michael and Fred, given in Los Angeles during the shoot of Lose With English.

In addition to the movies, BBG has released 11 CDs and has been touring all over the world - with hardly a pause - since 1990.  BBG won first place in Berlin's Troubadour Contest, held at the fabulous Maxim Gorky Theatre.(Video excerpts here.)

While on tour BBG also does workshops at film & music schools. It's a nice way to give-back after having such a wonderful adventurous life.

What can you expect at a Bright Blue Gorilla show? Beautiful vocal harmonies, lots of laughs, songs to inspire the soul, stories and comedy improvisation. BBG uses acoustic guitars, mini guitar, bongos, mystical drum, harmonium, tablas, harmonica, flute, and any strange instrument they can get their hands on!
